I’ve been DJing since 2011, couple times a month at my favourite Moscow milongas (Teplitsa, Buena Onda, Primavera, Rendezvous, French Cafe, etc.), and sometimes in neighboring cities (S.Petersburg, Kiev, Tallinn...) and at festivals (Remolino, Sabor del Tango, Tango Junta ...).
It is important for me as a dancer that a DJ is someone who I can trust and who can spark interest, that is why being a DJ I hold to the traditional milonga structure and try to avoid “experiments on humans” on the one hand, and on the other - I’m generous on good music and look for ways to use my favourite songs in all their beauty. And to do that I use my experience of dance on both sides of embrace - it helps me to understand what music men need for inspiration, and women - for joy. That is a remarkable feeling of involvement when you see tango happening with people on the dancefloor… and that is the best award for a DJ.
